On December 3, 2016, B’nai Israel was alive with the sounds of amazing music, the joy of a full house connecting, and celebrating. It was indeed “An Enchanted Evening”. Our extended congregational family, members of the extended Jewish Community and community at large experienced a spectacular evening that is still being talked about … the afterglow continues.
After dinner, the Toledo International Youth Orchestra entertained with our own Quinn Murphy. For the main event, Cantors Ivor Lichterman, Andrea Markowicz, and Jamie Gloth provided a musical program that was outstanding in every way. They performed Broadway, Opera, prayer, musical comedy, and each and every piece had particular significance to the audience. Stephen Rothschild, narrator during Cantor Lichterman’s musical comedy presentation, added yet another level of hilarity.
Joining our star studded performers were Rabbi Evan Rubin, of Congregation Etz Chayim and Cantor Josh Finkel, of Congregation Shomer Emunim. They delighted the audience with their lively participation. Cantor Pamela Schiffer of East Lansing also joined us for the evening . The ruach chorus and all of our performers joined together for a rousing finale. It was a wonderful way to continue the celebration of our congregation’s 150th anniversary.
